The VIA VN896 supports both the VIA C7®-M as well as all the latest Intel® mobile processors, including the Intel Pentium® M, Celeron™ M, Core™ Solo, Core Duo and Core2 Duo processors. Designed with mobility in mind, the VIA VN896 is optimized for ultra low power consumption to maximize battery life, and implements dynamic CKE and clock grating to minimize DDR SDRAM power consumption and achieve maximum power savings. Further, when paired with the VIA C7-M processor, the VIA VN896 offers support for VIA PowerSaver™, which acts as a throttle to lower the CPU's frequency and voltage when the workload is light, reducing overall CPU power consumption by up to 50 percent.
